Employment: +- 32 hours per week
Salary indication: €3800 – €4200 gross per month (based on a 32-hour working week) + bonus scheme based on revenue

About WOPL!

WOPL! – World of Play & Learning – is an indoor play world for children up to 8 years old and adults, focused on playing, discovering and learning together. WOPL! consists of three interactive and themed worlds: Water, Building and Art. There is also a cosy family café (the WOPL! Café) with tasty snacks, lunch and drinks, plus play zones for the kids.

Your role as manager

As manager you are the face of WOPL! Amsterdam. You ensure that everything runs smoothly and professionally – from the play worlds to the WOPL! Café. You combine strategy, finances and HR with the joy of day-to-day leadership. You keep an overview, motivate your team, streamline processes and are the point of contact for the municipality, suppliers and, of course, our visitors. You make sure children can discover endlessly and that parents and adults feel at ease and love coming back.

Responsibilities:

• Setting and safeguarding the direction of WOPL! together with the founders. 
• Ensuring finances and administration are in order.
• Maintaining contact with the municipality and suppliers for smooth collaboration.
• Developing and safeguarding procedures and safety rules.
• Leading the team, including recruitment, planning and development via the WOPL! Academy.
• Managing the ticketing and checkout system for a smooth visit.
• Arranging purchasing for the café and shop.
• Preparing reports and improving performance and visitor numbers.
• Pitching in on the floor when needed.

What do you bring?

• At least 3 years of leadership experience in hospitality, leisure, retail or recreation
• Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
• An affinity with children and their experience
• Bachelor's working and thinking level
• Strong organisational skills, with strategic and financial insight
• A proactive, energetic and guest-focused attitude
• Experience with staff scheduling and team development
• In possession of a first-aid (BHV) certificate or willing to obtain one
